Pregnancy Acupuncture in South Devon

Acupuncture for Pregnancy in Kingsbridge, Totnes & Modbury

Pregnancy is an extraordinary time of change. While it can be a joyful experience, it can also place significant demands on your body and emotions. Many of the women I support come to acupuncture for fertility treatment and continue throughout pregnancy, while others seek treatment to help them feel more comfortable, supported, and well during this important stage of life.

With nearly 20 years of clinical experience and three pregnancies of my own, I understand both professionally and personally the challenges that can arise along the way.

With Acupuncture treatment rooms in Kingsbridge, Totnes and Modbury, I treat people from across South Devon, including Dartmouth, Plymouth and Salcombe.

Can acupuncture help with pregnancy?

Many symptoms are often dismissed as a "normal" part of pregnancy, but that doesn't mean you have to struggle through them alone. Acupuncture offers a gentle, drug-free way to support your wellbeing and help you feel more comfortable throughout your pregnancy.

Common reasons women seek treatment include:

  • Nausea and morning sickness

  • Fatigue and low energy

  • Heartburn and digestive discomfort

  • Constipation

  • Back pain, pelvic pain, sciatica, and symphysis pubis pain

  • Carpal tunnel syndrome

  • Sleep difficulties

  • Stress, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm

  • Breech presentation

Preparing for Birth

I also offer pre-birth acupuncture from around 37 weeks of pregnancy.

These treatments are designed to help prepare your body and mind for labour, supporting relaxation, encouraging the body to be ready for birth, and helping you approach labour feeling calm and confident.

This can also be a wonderful opportunity to teach simple acupressure techniques to your birth partner or support team, giving them practical ways to support you during labour and potentially helping to reduce the intensity of pain.

Is acupuncture safe during pregnancy?

Acupuncture is widely used throughout pregnancy and offers a gentle, supportive way to care for your wellbeing during this important stage of life. Treatments are always tailored to your stage of pregnancy, your individual needs, and any guidance from your maternity team.

My aim is to support you throughout your pregnancy journey so that you feel nurtured, cared for, and better able to enjoy this special time while preparing for the arrival of your baby.
